ADAMAWA RELIGIOUS LEADERS CONDEMN LOOTING OF WAREHOUSES

Religious leaders in Adamawa have described the recent vandalism and looting of public and private properties by some youths as unethical and totally condemnable in both Islamic and Christian faiths.
The State Chairmen of Muslim Council of Nigeria MCN and Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Alhaji Gambo Jika and Bishop Dami Mamza stated this in an interview with newsmen in Yola on Tuesday.


According to Alhaji Jika, the act of ransacking either a public or private facility is immoral and tantamount to stealing which is prohibited in Islam and punishable by Allah in the day of judgement.
He called on the youths to follow the rightful channels and ventilate their grievances to government as the act of looting facilities is a criminality in its on peak that attracts the wraths of God.

He counseled parents in the state to directs their wards to return the looted and stolen items if found and called on Islamic clerics to complement the efforts of government by preaching peace in their respective lectures.

On his part, Bishop Mamza described the looters of public and private facilities as criminals as the act is totally different from the genuine mission of ENDSARS protesters and Christian religion does not condone such acts.

He urged Christians not to buy the looted and stolen properties but authentic the receipts of whatever they buy as government will take decisive action and anyone found as victim will face the full wrath of the law.

He noted that the aftermath of the ENDSARS protest was criminality and hope that the security will treat the perpetrators as criminals, calling on Christian clerics to preach according to the dictates of the Christianity.
